Open Water Life Saving Session

On our Open Water Lifesaving sessions we like to mix learning with structured play. Structured play is important when we’re in open water as it helps with that time it takes to acclimatise.

It’s usually a little chillier than the swimming pool, only a little bit though. Once acclimatised the group embarks on a set distance swim to get those muscles moving.

After that, we begin to practice our lifesaving techniques like tows, entries/exits and rope throwing in the open water environment. The open water is the perfect place to give practical knowledge as we explain dangers outside of the swimming pool. Most of all, we have fun while we push through the open water side of our qualifications.
